Councilman Michael D'Aquila

"As an engineer, I focus on the end goal:  how to bring projects to completion as efficiently as possible, and for the least cost, without skimping on quality.  I've done this in my professional life for over 20 years.  It has been my honor for the last 3 years to serve on our Township Council and apply these skills to improve our town.  A coach who's trained a distance runner all season feels an obligation and sense of pride guiding that runner to the state championships and seeing them cross the finish line.  I am that coach.  I care deeply about our town and its current direction, as I'm sure you do as well.  We have a number of large construction projects pending right now, including our state-of-the-Art. Municipal Building, including our Community Center, Library, and our Police Headquarters.   Actualizing these projects is a marathon, not a sprint.  It takes a lot of time, discipline, and long-term vision to work out the kinks in order to reach the desired end goal.

As Vice President of our Township Council, I have worked with our core leadership to bring projects such as redevelopment of Kings and Movie Theater properties to the point where the finish line is in sight, and just a short distance away.  These are solid RESULTS.  We just need to keep the momentum going, for that final push.  That's why it's so important at this critical juncture to elect someone who has actual, concrete, daily experience handling the exact type of issues Berkeley Heights is facing today.  I would like the opportunity to continue to prove to you that I am that person."
